Dreaming, visitor?

No one lives forever, not even me. One day, I will die, and all my memories and experiences will end, just like that. I don't know when it'll happen, or where, or how. Death is a moment in life like no other because it's the final one. It's funny, because it should be the most memorable moment in your life, but you're gone now, and that moment becomes a dark shadow in the lives of your loved ones.
There's definitely something special about death. Most people fear it like I do. Some people only live because of their fear of it. A lot of people wish for it to happen early so it's out of the way. About 3/4 of humans think that we go somewhere after we die. We read books, study religion, and debate philosophically to find out why we die, and whether or not we should live in the first place. We're all a little scared, no matter whether you're rich or poor, powerful or powerless.
Some people do very dark things and use death as an ally. Violent criminals often use suicide as a way to escape the consequences of their actions. In more advanced crimes, like the global ring of world leaders involved in the Epstein case, the criminals kill their own leader to quickly mute any evidence of their wrongdoing. And even though everyone knows what's going on, no one stands up to the powerful, because we mere mortals fear death.
We tell each other that the point of life is to have children, pointing to biology as our source. Or that we should fall in love, or travel the world, or achieve amazing things. These things will distill the human experience into the short ~79 years we have to live. If we're lucky, we feel satisfied and content in our dying moments. Our loved ones and supporters rarely are, though. It's like they want more out of us even though we have nothing left to give or take.
I want to live. I hope you want to live, too. We don't have to live, but we have to die later, so we should do something in the meantime. Something dreamy. Maybe we'll go somewhere beautiful. Hopefully we'll meet someone beautiful. And hopefully, as we grow old, we'll start to see Death itself as beautiful, too. Some number of years later, the world will stop spinning and everything will be quiet. It's interesting that Earth and the universe aren't alive in our book, but they will certainly die. God's gift to us is that we can live. It's our duty as animals.
“You are on this boat floating on an endless ocean. These baskets contain wishes, desires...forces that drive your will to move forward. However, if you stay here just staring at them...sooner or later...they're all going to sink.” ― Fábio Moon, Daytripper
